Common Council Meeting

August 9, 2007

A portion of our Save Our Pond group attended the Common Council meeting. We voiced our concerns and received some very positive feedback. Mayor Timothy Stewart personally addressed us and assured us that they are working hard to solve the problem. We were very pleased, but we are still collecting signatures and we will still be holding meetings. We will be back in September

Meeting

August 7, 2007

We held a meeting on our front yard. The turnout was slightly smaller than the previous meeting. However, democratic candidate for mayor Jim Wyskiewicz was present as was his running mate Lawrence Hermanowski. It was a very productive meeting with many ideas discussed.

Stanley Quarter Pond is being taken over by blue-green algae. A lot of people in our nieghborhood are very concerned. We held a meeting on  June 12, 2007 at Stanley Quarter Park. Seventeen concerned citizens were present. Another meeting will take place before the August 8th Common Council meeting. The date is to be announced.
